I love to trail walk, enjoying my surroundings and embracing the changes each season brings. It's hard to ignore the beauty of nature as it resonates around you proclaiming God's sovereignty in the most eloquent way. I am especially appreciative when Spring gently emerges into life and all around us there is a sense of new beginnings and a renewal of not just botanical re-birth but the greater joy of spiritual re-birth also. I feel as if God has created this amazing life-cycle so we can rejoice in his universe over and over again. Like a gentle nudge to re-embrace our faith and creationism and draw close to Him and His Word.

I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" That is what Spring is like for me. Maybe for you too.

The last twelve months have been defined by Covid 19. Since last Spring we have learned to work differently, socialise differently, even dress differently - who knew face masks would become a fashion statement?! As Christians I believe we've also learned to love differently - more unconditionally, compassionately, intentionally, may I even suggest more Christ-like?
.
We have found ways to turn negatives into positives realizing that negative thoughts are of no use and that only Christ can bring us back to the joy we all crave. "A joyful heart is good medicine" Proverbs 17:22. We know that it is important that we get vaccinated against Covid, but I believe we should let Christ's word inoculate us against the difficulties so many of us have endured this past year. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Hopefully this past year has not been too difficult for you and your family. Hopefully you have been able to share in God's love through our livestreams, on-line prayer meetings and other on-line events that have been made available. And we have been blessed to able to safely meet in person as we did last summer at the outdoor service, for prayer meetings in the park, our On Board events, Selah and the men's exercise group to name a few. The finish line is just ahead. Stay strong, stay safe. Embrace the Spring that heralds a new beginning.
